Good article, Kathy. I know you to be one who meets challenges head-on, and handles them. I can't know how you feel daily, but you must be fighting the greatest physical and mental challenge of your life. The one comfort you can be sure of, God is still caring for you, even though we cannot know His plan for each of us . You CAN be sure He never has malice for His children. And, miracles do happen. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Thank you, Alan. This means a great deal to me. I appreciate your being connected here and your reminder today is very helpful and touching as I’m in a bit of a dip right now. Thank you!

Jumping hurdles is a great image for dealing with many situations. I'm now two weeks into total knee replacement, trying to negotiate the many hurdles of recovery. Pain, pills, getting to the bathroom, staying hydrated, eating a little while nauseated, attempting exercises, rinse and repeat. The mental hurdles are there too. The end goal seems far away, but I must carry on and things will get better. I know chronic pain is a different situation, and I think of you every day as you cope with patience and grace. Sending lots of love!

I’m glad to hear you finally got to have that operation! And Tim has had both knees done – one of them twice! – So I can imagine where you are in the recovery stage. It takes a while, but you’ll get there!

I have been tripping and falling over the hurdles a lot lately- spinal stenosis, baker’s cyst, epidurals that didn’t help, etc. lying on the couch with an ice pack on my lower back and one leg elevated waiting for the nerve RX to kick in — I see the choice I have. I look around for my momentum - where did it go? - you inspire me. And I find my resilience. I am so glad you are writing — and sharing your wisdom. I have fond memories of reading your emails when you were in Topeka. May grace and peace continue to surround you.

Thank you, Loretta. I’m so sorry you’re suffering and have that much to endure. It’s good to be connected and I’m thankful that you’re reading and responding. It can be very lonely, this life of enduring.
